Call To Arms Gun Works provides firearm sales and transfer services for Maine residents with a valid Maine drivers license* with their current residential address. The base fee for a transfer is $10/firearm.
*If the transferee/buyer is a member of the Armed Forces on active duty, his/her state of residence is the state in which his/her permanent duty station is located. Valid/current military ID & PDS orders are required. Additional government issued documentation establishing resident address may also be required. Firearms and accessories sold out of the state of Maine must comply with that state’s laws and regulations.
Please note: Effective August 9, 2024, Maine requires a 72 hour wait period for retail firearms sales and certain person-to-person transfers. See: 72 Hour Wait
Person-To-Person Transfers
While Maine does not require a person-to-person sale be conducted through a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL), some people prefer to transfer a firearm this way to someone they are not well acquainted with. This ensures an ATF Form 4473 is completed in person and NICS background check is conducted prior to the transfer taking place.
A valid, current Maine drivers license* is required for the transferor and transferee.
Out Of State Transfer – Outbound
We will carefully package your firearm(s) and ship it to the FFL of your choice. The actual additional costs of packaging and shipping will be charged.
A valid, current Maine drivers license* is required for the transferor.
Out Of State Transfer – Inbound
We will receive and process your firearm(s) from an out of state FFL dealer/distributor and arrange for you to come in and complete the standard ATF Form 4473 and NICS background check.
You must contact us BEFORE you have a firearm shipped to us.
